My name is Charlie. I was pulled from a shelter where I was in very bad shape. I had been losing a lot of hair and had bad skin problems. I was very dirty, and I had a horrible ear infection. The rescue group pulled me because they knew I wouldn't last long in there.
Now I'm in foster care on a rescue worker's farm. I got a bath, went to see the vet, and had my ears and skin treated. The vet says I'm heartworm negative, too. I feel like a whole new dog.

Amy is mostly house trained. She does have the basics down, she is just working on learning the rules and finding a good way to let the humans know that she needs to go outside.
She is great with the kids and resident dog. She has a lot of energy and is gentle. She's likes to follow me everywhere in the house. She doesn't know the basic commands, such as sit or stay, but she is very food motivated and will learn quickly. At first she didn't seem to recognize the sit command at all. By the third meal time she had already learned that she must sit nicely in order to receive her meal and by the fourth meal she did so before I even had time to give the command. She is very smart and will learn quickly, especially since she is so food motivated, but will of course benefit from some obedience classes with her new family.
She is a chewer, but that goes along with still being a puppy. She responds well when redirected to an appropriate chew toy.

Ashley and Nolan are a bonded pair and cannot be separated. Ashley is a black and white five year old English Springer Spaniel. Nolan is a senior black lab around the age of nine.
Ashley is spayed and very well behaved. A little on the heavy side, so she needs weight management. The humane society repaired her cruciate about a year ago and she probably has some arthritis in there. She is house trained and her old owner says she isn’t good with cats -- although we don’t picture her doing anything bad to them.
Nolan has some arthritis in his hips and back. He is on the thin side and has some food and skin allergies. He is just an old man that needs a good place to live for the few years he has left.
Ashley and Nolan are spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. They are heartworm negative. Please help this pair be adopted together. They deserve a loving forever home.

Smokey is a beautiful boy who came to our shelter in February 2009 He was shortly thereafter adopted, but then returned in 11/09 when an unexpected death occured in the family.
Smokey is quite the showman. He will sit, shake, rollover,and even stand up and dance for a treat. Smokey is not fond of cats and is nervous at first with other dogs . He will bark at them to try and hide his nervousness, but with the right introduction, patience, and positive encouragement he will learn to be buddies with them.

Hello,
My name is Levi. I am what some may refer to as a little bit ADD, at least that is what my foster mom says. Oh wait, let me go get my ball, okay all better now. The family I lived with before I came to my foster home were all right, but they couldn't handle an active springer like me. They tried their hardest but realized that I would be a happier guy in a different home.
This foster home has lots of other dogs to play with, they put up with my manners (or lack thereof, as Mom says!), and man. do I get exercise at this place! I get to go running with my foster dad and he takes me for bike rides, too. We go hiking a lot, and that's the best. The woods are so full of fun smells and squirrels.
I would like to have a family that will teach me the right way to do things. It's more fun when people show me what to do instead of yelling at me. I need an active family. If you're a runner or like to ride bikes, give me a call.

Gordy is a very nice boy who was found near Viking, MN. He showed up in a yard and never went home. The people living there checked with neighbors and put him in the lost and found ads, but to no avail. As the weather started turning cold, they decided to bring him to our shelter so he can be placed with a forever family.
