Chuck A. Tate
October 29, 1972 – April 15, 2016
Chuck Tate was a young man who lost his fight with brain cancer. He was an amazing man. He was a man who met his wife on a blind date, fell madly in love, married her at the courthouse (respect for her due to illness in her family), gave her a dream wedding renewal 10 years later and was happily married for 22 years. He served his country, in the U. S. Navy, proudly. He was a “Nuke”, and graduated from Nuclear Power School. He was stationed in Charleston, SC and Seattle, WA. After discharge from the Navy, he chose to move back to Orlando, and chose a home near his “cool” mother in law. Chuck loved life. Chuck was a man who made friends, lifelong friends from high school to Navy brothers to co-workers. He laughed easily and often. He loved his springers. Along with his wife, “cool” mother in law and father in law drove to St. Louis in 2014 to attend their first ESRA National, but really it was to add to his family, Danny boy. Chuck was diagnosed with a glioma on 4/15/2015. During the past year, he continued to be the generous caring man, encouraging his wife to support ESRA, attending Nationals, creating a fundraiser and even in his final weeks to temporarily foster an owner surrender springer. He was never alone. His best friends flew from far and wide to support him and the Tate’s. His wife and family did everything they could to give him a year of beauty and love every day. He was surrounded by loved ones as the cancer took him, way too young. He will be forever missed family. His springers Danny boy and Cha Cha (their other springer) knew he was ill and they were forever attached to his side, or at the head of the bed, and will also grieve for the man they loved. His and his family’s wish, is for donations to be made to support ESRA and continue to help other springers.
